What Recyclable Materials We Accept

C&D Scrap Metal accepts ferrous and non-ferrous metals such as steel, iron, copper, aluminum, brass, stainless steel and more, including appliances and household items that are made from metal.

Prohibited Items

Explosives

Any items that can explode under heat and pressure including Flammable Liquids, Gas Bottles, and Pressurized Cylinders.

Toxic Materials

Toxic Materials include Corrosive liquids, Radioactive material, Poisonous substances and Asbestos

Non-Metal Items

C&D Scrap Metal is a Metal Recycling facility. We do not accept any other junk, scrap or refuse of a non-metallic nature.

TV Monitors

We do not accept televisions, computer monitors, or any electronic screens. These items contain hazardous components such as lead and mercury that require special disposal at designated e-waste facilities.

Catalytic Converters

Catalytic Converters are not accepted at our facility. Due to strict regulations and documentation requirements surrounding their recycling and resale, please take them to a licensed catalytic converter recycler.

Shopping Carts

Please do not bring shopping carts on or around the property. It is against the laws and ordinances of the City of Houston.

Frequently Asked Questions

C&D Scrap Metal accepts all forms of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, including copper, aluminum, stainless steel, brass, iron, window sheets and extrusions making your drop off process a one-stop operation. We accept scrap metal from electrical contractors, plumbers, HVAC technicians, construction sites, mechanical contractors, window and glass contractors, signage companies, machine shops, automotive shops, and more! 

C&D Scrap Metal does not accept the following items: 
  • Explosives — Any materials that can explode under heat or pressure, such as gas bottles, flammable liquids, and pressurized cylinders.
  • Toxic Materials — Corrosive liquids, radioactive substances, poisons, and asbestos must be handled by certified hazardous waste facilities.
  • Non-Metal Items — Plastics, wood, rubber, glass, and other non-metallic materials are not accepted.
  • Shopping Carts — Abandoning or bringing shopping carts onto the property violates City of Houston ordinances.
  • TV Monitors & Electronics — These contain hazardous components like lead and mercury that require e-waste recycling.
  • Catalytic Converters — Not accepted due to federal regulations and theft-prevention laws; take these to a licensed recycler.
