Awarded recognizes COM for its acquisition of Houston-based C&D Scrap Metal

HOUSTON, TX (May 2, 2023) – Company of Merchants, a leading owner-operator of premier industrial facilities in the Gulf Coast region, including metal recycling, vehicle storage, and collision facilities, announces today it is a recipient of the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) Houston Deal of the Year Award.

Company of Merchants won in the Industrial Services – Corporate Strategic Acquisition category for its acquisition of Houston’s most well-known recycling company, C&D Scrap Metal. The deal expands C&D’s presence to three facilities throughout Houston, increasing customer accessibility to state-of-the-art facilities that are innovative in design, operation, and service. That service includes transparent weighing, competitive pricing, technological enhancements, and safe environments.

The criteria for the nominations included a transaction value range, industry focus, type of transaction, and anecdotal commentary on what makes the deal unique. A panel of esteemed judges, including business leaders and educators throughout Houston, evaluated deals based on submissions, overall story, economic and strategic impact, stakeholder value, and professional expertise.
